What is EMI Filter?
EMI Filter is the abbreviation of Electromagnetic Interference filter. An EMI Filter is a passive electronic device which is used to restrain conducted interferences which are found on a signal or power line. Moreover, EMI filters are unacceptable electromagnetic emissions, natural or man-made, which result in the degradation or malfunction of electronic or electrical equipment. An EMI Filter works by presenting a significantly higher resistance to higher frequency content. That is to say, the low pass design of the EMI Filter will result in the restriction of the flow of high frequency signals, effectively shorting it to ground. The final result of the EMI Filter is to reduce and attenuate the unwanted signal strength, thereby having a minimal effect on other components or devices.
